Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has a rich history dating back to 1893. Since its establishment in 1969, it has made significant contributions to the academic programs of the Faculty of Engineering. The department has emphasized quality and relevance by establishing a CAD/CAM/CAE Centre and offering an honours course leading to a B.Sc. Engineering Degree. With accreditation from IESL and IMechE (UK), the undergraduate program is well-regarded nationally and internationally. The department is dedicated to research, boasting a Research Laboratory and Product Development Unit. Additionally, it offers postgraduate programs and conducts Continuous Professional Development programs for the community and industry.
