Building Economics

The Department of Building Economics at the University of Moratuwa, founded in 1983 by Professor Siri Caldera, is the first state-owned Sri Lankan institute to offer an undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying. It offers self-funded Masters programs in Project Management (1996), Construction Law and Dispute Resolution (2011), and Occupational Safety and Health Management (2013). The Department achieved accreditations for its Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying program from prestigious organizations such as IQSSL, RICS, AIQS, CICES, and PAQS in various years.
